It gets really frustrating having to watch the rollaball tutorial over and over and over because the interface is so different in 4.6. There are just too many things that don't match up to name themn all please review and update these tutorials. It will be a good investment saving potential clients from giving up thinking that unity is confusing though it's not thankyou.

I used ALL of my votes to vote for this because it is so serious. I have lost any confidence in following pretty much any tutorials now. I always get to a point where my side of things just doesn't work. I think its me because i'm a newbie, then I find out there was a feature change since the creation of the tutorial and you simply DONT DO IT THAT WAY ANYMORE! Big waste of time!

Unity seems to be great for people that have been doing it for years and have kept up with the changes.

I'm seriously considering dumping Unity and going straight to native development or Unreal engine.

    Same here!

    The Audio tutorial:
    https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/topics/audio/sound-effects-unity-5

Is almost impossible to learn from as the asset pack no longer exists and it says it's about sound effects, however it only talks about prefab footsteps, not about sound effects or ambiences at all. Wish there were more official updated tutorials and examples on standard practice in how to use audio in unity.

This is an issue that has been ongoing since 2015. It really must be addressed. What is the point of having the tutorials available if they are out of date and constantly causing errors? I would absolutely love to learn to use this software the correct way and with the current tutorials this would be impossible. Basically, instead of learning the correct way to do things, we are being shown the wrong way, and then spending hours trying to fix a problem that we are not capable of solving at a beginner level. Please. Update. Your. Tutorials. Soon.

Hey Unity, Here's an example of a properly constructed tutorial https://www.raywenderlich.com/127672/introduction-unity-scripting
    Note IT'S NOT A VIDEO!!
    Video should be a _SUPPLEMENT_.
I can't express my frustration and disdain at this.
I've seen Open Source projects with 5 team members do a better job at managing this than you folks.
The excuses you make in the video comments is just pathetic.

I just started learning a few days ago and have been using the official tutorials on this site. One of the first ones, 'Scripts as Behaviour Components', uses a now-deprecated method to change the color of a cube.

As a newbie I am used to everything I try not working at first, but in this case there is an entirely different way required to change color. Thankfully I was able to get some help from Reddit.

How can new users even get their feet wet when the baby steps tutorials are incorrect for the latest version? Please update them.

Since I've updated to Unity 5.5 most scripting tutorials I follow I keep getting errors I'm not quite skilled enough to fix all of them it would be very helpful with updated tutorials or Scripts in the unity manual with gameplay content so I know how to incorporate what I am learning into my game.

Throwing my voice into the mix too:

Update the tutorials! What point is there in having out of date tutorials on your site?

I can confirm that at the time of posting this I got onto part 2 of the "roll a ball" tutorial only to encounter an error which I searched up for over an hour thinking I had messed up somewhere. Surprised to find out that you folks can;t keep your tutorials for beginners updated, seems like a bit of a joke and I would have expected better!
