Spherical Terrain Generation

Unity needs the ability to generate any size sphere terrain for generating sphere maps. With this option generating terrain over a sphere with a world map overlay will allow for easy creation of planets, continuous maps and cause less stress instead of trying to intergrate imported assets and placing them on a sphere mesh at 3 dimensional locations.

I beg you to integrate 3d sphere terrain generation...

    I think this is a splendid idea.
    @YOSHI: Voxel based terrain is something you have to implement yourself. Unity focuses on core-features which are leaning heavily on the engine side and therefore are very performant to use. For them to integrate voxel-terrain, i do not know if we would benefit from it that much.
    The heightmap-terrain however uses some nice tricks to perform very well. To achieve a spherical terrain, "all they need to do" is providing an optional spherical coordinate system. the larger the radius of the terrain, the more details you would be able to add. Vote up, even if it is already some years old.
