Moonlight/Silverlight support for 2D graphics

Increase the dependency on Mono to include Moonlight for the development of 2D graphics and basic UI. It would allow re-use of tools and components from the Silverlight ecosystem within the Unity platform for anything 2D oriented in a 3D game.

    Everyone wants a 2d ui editor with flash type capability. Currently #2 and #7 on the votes. Action script is not mono based, however Moonlight is. if unity converted this into triangles like Scaleform does and provided good performance then we could start making next generation 2d/3d applications to compete with the likes of unreal sdk. Of course any serious developer will be balancing capability, performance, platforms and workflow when deciding which tool to use. So a weak 2d ui will rule out most serious developers.

    A Flexible GUI System like moonlight would be great for management games etc, and open up unity for more applications other than gaming

    It may require some dev work to integrate with Unity's gfx, but since Mono is already integrated, Moonlight seems like a natural step for all us C# developers who love WPF/Silverlight/Moonlight! Unity people, can you give any feel for how much of a possibility this might be? I want this so much I'd consider working for unity to get this done.
