When working on projects there's often no need to launch SteamVR when simply loading up the editor. Please just stop and launch SteamVR only when playing the editor and build settings are VR. Better yet, if the build settings have XR support selected, prompt the user before playing the scene to ask if they want to launch SteamVR. It just gets in the way 99% of the time.
