Audio/Video: Live Endless Streaming

The implementation of Live audio/video endless streaming into Unity could definitly increase the quality of the broadcasts we'd like to propose to our gamers and public in multi-users sessions. It could be great if we can propose live concerts or video performances directly mapped in our 3D enviroments. Thanks a lot for your attention and for your great release!

    With HoloLens and several AR tools coming into picture. This feature is now more important than ever. I am doing a project a project in which I do emotion analysis using the video-feed provided by HoloLens' camera. HoloLens' alone can't handle that. it's not good enough for that. so I need to transmit the stream to a server which does the processing for me and gives the result. The only place where I am stuck is to transmit the video feed from one Unity app to another. There is no straightforward way to do it. So yes, such a feature will definitely help.

    Especially as VR(Video) Becomes more of a component, and it's not very nice to force a user to download GB's of data to open your app, while with streaming you can run as much or little data as the user wants to pay for in bandwidth, or rely on with his/her local wifi.

    This is a very old set of comments but I am unable to find anything about HLS in the documentation. Is HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) now supported in Unity3d (5.0)? If so, does is support encryption (AES)?

    This would be fantastic, I would give stupid money to a plugin that gave us this ability, so it would be even better if it was included as the Unity core featureset.

    This is a must have. I was told engineers monitor these forums but I have yet to see a response on this forum about HLS video support in the pipeline. What's the roadmap for Unity and when can we expect this? I want to convert my company over to using Unity but I can't until this is supported.

    Could coming Javascript video decoders like ORBX.js (from Mozilla) be ported to Unity as a work-around until Unity natively integrates this functionality?

    Support to HLS became mandatory as this format is getting support form all kinds of devices and live events are now being offered by companies like YouTube, Ustream, Facebook, LiveStream, JustinTV and others. HLS support is a must have.

    We would appreciate support for Http Live Streaming (HLS) for video textures. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Live_Streaming . This would be a necessary element of the project we'd like to build with Unity.

    I was thinking of this the other day. Having Vimeo or Youtube vids stream straight into your game would be insanely cool.
